Participation of ELGO DEMETER at Winter Fancy Food Show 2019
ELGO DEMETER, along with its representative agency NOVACERT LTD, participated in the Winter Fancy Food show in San Francisco, USA. The exhibition that was held from January 13th to January 15th, 2019, has been one of the biggest food and beverage exhibitions around the globe as it normally hosts more than 80,000 products and 1400 exhibitors. The participation in this exhibition is a part of the 3-year EU financed project that promotes the feta PDO: “Feta PDO. Let’s get real!”.
We were particularly honoured by the presence of the general ambassador of Greece in San Francisco Mr. Antonis Sgouropoulos and the commercial attache Ms. Daphne Vichikounaki, who contribute greatly in the promotion of Feta PDO.
Also, on January 14th, 100 students of “The Culinary Institute of America in California (CIA)”, had the opportunity to learn more about Feta PDO, its uniqueness, quality, taste and flexibility as a food product as well as its use in both the Mediterranean and global cuisine. The presentation was given by the famous author and winner of 3 James Beard Awards, Mrs. Janet Fletcher.
Apart from the United States the EU financed campaign is also implemented in the markets of Canada, Germany, UK and France, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
